This post will consist of random thoughts that have been flowing through my mind that I think others may benefit from. In my spare time, one of the hobbies I enjoy is pondering. I love looking back on conversations, actions, ideas, thoughts and reactions. This is how I start and end my day. Some call it reflection and others call it meditation. Whatever the case may be, I suggest everyone take the time to make this a part of their day. It brings all things into perspective. Here's what I'm sharing today. Enjoy!
- When someone comes to you with a problem, don't try to solve it. Listen and when they are done talking, ask them questions that will guide them into their own answer. That way, they cannot say you gave them bad advice. :)
- Less talking, more doing. Stop telling people what you are going to do and do it! People (including yourself) believe what they see and not necessarily what they hear.
- Pay attention to your breathing. It tells you so much about your body that you don't even realize. For example, constant yawning is a sign your body is craving more air; not necessarily that you are tired.
- Be protective of your thoughts. Don't let ANYONE come in and change or persuade your ideas and thoughts. Know what YOU believe and stick to it. You know yourself better than anyone else. If you don't, make a list of your qualities and characteristics and study them.....study yourself!
- Women, take your emotions out of conversations so you can think clearly about what you want to say. This will also help you become a better listener. We often times hear with our emotions (when we do this, emotions are almost always wrong!).
- Find the good/positive in things and people before you spot the bad/negative. It will keep your heart clean. Work on training your brain to do this. The society we live in teaches us the opposite.
- Find out what your purpose is. Then find out what the opposite of it is. You will then find out what your biggest struggle in life is. Ex: if you are here to instill hope in others, the opposite of this is fear. Fear is the biggest challenge that holds hope captive.
- Set people free from your expectations. You open up yourself to gain more friends.
- Write down the life you envision and place it where you can see it daily. Seeing it is believing it, is doing it!
Ciao,
-T
