The difference between thinking and knowing.

(But, what if she was right...)
(I think I've got it!)

When you make a decision, especially if it's a difficult one, are you ALWAYS sure it's the right decision?  Do you second guess yourself when someone comes along and offers another viewpoint to the decision you just made and were SO certain about?  The bible states: A double minded man is unstable in all his ways (James 1:8).  The word also tells us that God is not the author of confusion, but of peace (I Corinthians 14:33).  I recently had a bout with confusion that lasted for over a month.  I had made a decision about something, prayed about it to make sure I was heading in the direction and finalized it without any regret.

After seeking out counsel from a few of my trusted friends and prayer partners, I began questioning my decision instead of trusting what I had already discussed with the Lord.  It wasn't that my friends were giving me advice contrary to the choice I had made; I second guessed the entire decision.  I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that these women have nothing but love and respect for me.  They would never give me counsel that will cause me harm.  What happened was I had allowed the enemy to come in and offer confusion to me as part of the process and solution (double-mindedness).  I allowed him to come into a space that is marked for my sacred thoughts and processing points.

This post is for those of you who are in the midst of making a major decision or choice about something and you have been toiling over it for days or maybe even weeks.  DO NOT allow anyone to come in and cause you to second guess yourself and the decisions and choices you make.  That is not how God operates. You can always take everything to the Lord in prayer and get confirmation from Him. That is being wise, but when you become thoroughly confused, I challenge you to question the source. Also, challenge the process you took in order to get to that point of confusion.  There may be a gateway YOU opened and allowed Satan to come in and whisper gentley into your spirit.  Remember, you have the mind of Christ Jesus. There is clarity, wisdom, understanding and hope there.  Embrace it and allow it to dictate your choices from now on.

Happy Knowing.
